{"id":1252,"date":"2012-03-26T09:12:31","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T14:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/?p=1252"},"modified":"2012-03-26T09:12:31","modified_gmt":"2012-03-26T14:12:31","slug":"riding-season-is-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/riding-season-is-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Riding Season Is Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I think I woke up on the proverbial wrong side of the bed. \u00a0There is no good reason for this, it just happens sometimes I suppose, and most commonly on Mondays. \u00a0What can ya&#8217; do. \u00a0I shall type up an obligatory update anyway.<\/p>\n<p>So, beginning with Friday: \u00a0You guessed it, an afternoon at my favorite local haunt. \u00a0By all rights I should have just gone home, given the weather. \u00a0I sort of look forward to it through the week though, and I didn&#8217;t want to start my weekend off on the wrong foot. \u00a0So, I headed down and took up a perch in the &#8220;duck blind&#8221; with several other guys. \u00a0That&#8217;s the small, covered part of the patio attached to the back of the building, which gave us a bit of respite from the drenching rain. \u00a0Our excitement for the evening? \u00a0Well, we were sitting there rehashing the weeks woes when we saw a big freaking rat about the size of Kane go slogging through the water. \u00a0Eww. \u00a0We promptly procured some chips and went about chumming for him, and then trying to crack him with a piece of firewood when he&#8217;d come out. \u00a0Ahhhh, good clean fun. \u00a0(Nobody had good enough aim to bag him though, rats. \u00a0HA HA HA, get it, &#8220;rats.&#8221; \u00a0Oh boy.)<\/p>\n<p>Saturday I don&#8217;t much recall what I did. \u00a0I hit the gym around noon and spent a good amount of time there. \u00a0Given the wonderful weather, I&#8217;m sure I did something incredibly fun and exciting after that, but the details escape me. \u00a0After I got done doing whatever it was, I went and watched basketball games and bad horror movies on the couch. \u00a0Donette, meanwhile, was up north at a slumber party with a bunch of hens. \u00a0Not exactly as fun as chucking firewood at a rat, but every day can&#8217;t be that exciting I guess.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday I mowed the yard. \u00a0Woo hoo. \u00a0The second mowing of the season, and it was way too tall. \u00a0I expect I&#8217;ll be cutting it again Wednesday if I am to keep up with it. \u00a0Sigh. \u00a0After that I headed out for a little spin on the bicycle. \u00a0To mix things up a bit, I headed straight north up Main and kept going until I hit the river. \u00a0<a title=\"River Route\" href=\"http:\/\/connect.garmin.com\/activity\/161490550\" target=\"_blank\">Nice ride<\/a> I think; \u00a0Got a few good hills mixed in and as long as you watch out for potholes the pavement is pretty good. \u00a0After that I decided to head down and watch the late basketball game at the Brooksider. \u00a0Wow, nice day. \u00a0I elected to sit at a table in the sun, which was too bright to really see the TV&#8217;s, but I was pretty\u00a0neutral\u00a0as far as the game went anyway. \u00a0After a liberal dose of rays, we headed home for some dinner. \u00a0Fired up the grill for the first time this year and had some good burgers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I woke up on the proverbial wrong side of the bed. \u00a0There is no good reason for this, it just happens sometimes I suppose, and most commonly on Mondays. \u00a0What can ya&#8217; do. \u00a0I shall type up an obligatory update anyway.
