Wow, what a fine morning. \u00a0I can overlook the 100% humidity and cloudy skies for some 70-degree temps. \u00a0Not that it makes a whole lot of\u00a0difference\u00a0from the confines of a cubicle.<\/p>\n
That was a moderately entertaining weekend at best. \u00a0Friday I did a grand bunch of nothing. \u00a0What, like went to the Brooksider, Jalapenos, and home? \u00a0No, like nothing. \u00a0I was pretty darn sick for the better part of last week. \u00a0I’m no doctor, but I do have the Google, and a little quick research indicated that recommended cures for the flu don’t include sitting on a patio in 40-degree weather smoking a cigar. \u00a0Rats. \u00a0So, Donette and I went up to the gym for a bit, then I went home and played Wii games all evening. \u00a0It passed the time just fine too; \u00a0I miss the ol’ Wii games.<\/p>\n
Saturday I felt considerably better, due in no small part to my quiet evening Friday I’m sure. \u00a0I headed up to the gym for a few hours, then got a call from Martin with the super exciting news that he was heading to midtown for the day. \u00a0His description of the days plans were advertised as “Have a hotdog at Hooper’s.” \u00a0Indeed we did enjoy a few $1.50 hotdogs, then his plan somehow morphed into a tour of Waldo. \u00a0The final damage included Hooper’s<\/a>, Tommy Farha’s<\/a>, Patrick’s<\/a>, Bobby Baker’s<\/a>, and Quintons<\/a>. \u00a0Those links are about the best I could come up with; \u00a0These aren’t really the kind of places that waste a lot of resources on websites and advertising and all that other crazy stuff. \u00a0I particularly enjoy that Farha’s shows up as a “Cafe.” \u00a0What exactly makes them a cafe; \u00a0the beef jerky for sale by the cash register? \u00a0Who knows. \u00a0Donette, meanwhile, was out with the girls. \u00a0They went out to dinner, then saw Billy Elliot<\/a> at Music Hall. \u00a0We have different tastes in entertainment, what can I say.<\/p>\n Sunday somehow\u00a0disappeared\u00a0on me. \u00a0I don’t know what happened. \u00a0Matter of fact, I woke up this morning convinced it was Sunday. \u00a0(Which, I suppose, will make the day seem even longer than usual.) \u00a0We went to Costco and got a few items I guess, which is always good for passing a few hours. \u00a0I made a pot of beans and roasted a chicken<\/a>\u00a0for some tacos, and I guess that was about it. \u00a0Woo hoo. \u00a0Closed out the day with some movie on Netflix that was so horrible I can’t even remember the name.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Wow, what a fine morning. \u00a0I can overlook the 100% humidity and cloudy skies for some 70-degree temps. \u00a0Not that it makes a whole lot of\u00a0difference\u00a0from the confines of a cubicle.
