{"id":201,"date":"2007-06-04T01:32:41","date_gmt":"2007-06-04T07:32:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/?p=201"},"modified":"2007-06-04T01:32:41","modified_gmt":"2007-06-04T07:32:41","slug":"buenas-dias-from-sweden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/buenas-dias-from-sweden\/","title":{"rendered":"Buenas Dias From Sweden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK my Swedish is a little rough&#8230;\u00a0 We arrived in Sweden (Denmark, actually) sometime Friday evening after limited mis-adventure.\u00a0 Our flight was delayed out of KC, so that kicked off a series of mild inconveniences, like our luggage not arriving.\u00a0 Since we had the wedding on Saturday and our good clothes were packed, this wasn&#8217;t going to work out, so we had to sit around the airport several hours waiting to see if it showed.\u00a0 It eventually did and we were on our way, no worries.\u00a0 We took a train from Denmark to Malmo, Sweden, where Johan&#8217;s brother Martin picked us up and drove us the rest of the way.\u00a0 By the time we hit the hotel in Vaxjo we&#8217;d been traveling 29 hours;\u00a0 We\u00a0 slept well that night.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, after a solid night of sleep, we spent the day with the wedding events.\u00a0 The ceremony was at a nearby Chapel, then we took a short walk to the ruins of <a href=\"http:\/\/cityguide-europe.com\/se\/vaxjo\/?menu=att&amp;cat=\/attractions\/kronoberg\" title=\"Kronoberg Castle\" target=\"_blank\">Kronoberg Castle<\/a> for the reception.\u00a0 (At least I think that&#8217;s where we were&#8230;\u00a0 That&#8217;s what my 10 minutes of research leads me to believe, and the pictures looks similar.)\u00a0 We had a good time, even if we didn&#8217;t understand 5 words the entire evening.\u00a0 There were lots of speeches, toasts, songs, and TONS of food.\u00a0 We just kind of hung back with silly smiles on our faces, laughed when everybody else did, and held our glasses up when everybody else did.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll post the pictures soon so everbody can see the impressive feast that was laid out, and the awesome room we were in, and all the wedding decorations.\u00a0 Oh wait, I don&#8217;t HAVE any pictures, because I took <strong>two sets<\/strong> of dead batteries with me.\u00a0 Oh well, maybe I will just happen to be back at the castle some time soon and I can take some then.\u00a0 LOSER!!!<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday Johan&#8217;s parents took us on a nice tour of the area surrounding Vaxjo.\u00a0 We had lunch at their house, looked at (everybody else&#8217;s) pictures, and watched them open gifts.\u00a0 When we got back to the hotel we borrowed some bicycles and went downtown for a bit, which was quite comical to us but nobody else seemed to notice.\u00a0 We found the bikes rather amusing, but they are pretty standard issue over here.\u00a0 A rather &#8220;utilitarian&#8221; style&#8230;\u00a0 Sure beat walking though.<\/p>\n<p>Today we are heading back south to Malmo with Johan, where we will spend the rest of our stay in Sweden.\u00a0 I may even get fancy and throw out a mid-week update, who knows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OK my Swedish is a little rough&#8230;\u00a0 We arrived in Sweden (Denmark, actually) sometime Friday evening after limited mis-adventure.\u00a0 Our flight was delayed out of KC, so that kicked off a series of mild inconveniences, like our luggage not arriving.\u00a0 Since we had the wedding on Saturday and our good clothes were packed, this wasn&#8217;t [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-201","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/201","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=201"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/201\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=201"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=201"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=201"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
