That was a rather lame weekend, which I am sure will be reflected in this lackadaisical effort at a weekly entry.\u00a0 Plus, we are going out of town on Wednesday, so I have all my focus directed at getting ready for that excursion.\u00a0 Actually, the events of Friday escape me totally… I may have just gone home and sat in front of the PC.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, I think that is exactly what I did.\u00a0 Edit:\u00a0 Donette reminded me, I went out to the temporary Kennedy’s location with Bob, Joe and Martin and hung out for a while.\u00a0 Even played a little pool, for the first time in several years.<\/p>\n
Saturday brought only marginally more excitement.\u00a0 Just never really got out of the gate.\u00a0 Additionally, in a rather odd turn, one of our neighbors parked their car in the driveway, effectively blocking us in.\u00a0 Somehow, in our years living with a shared drive, we’ve never run into this situation, and it was a bit baffling.\u00a0 They didn’t answer the phone or the door, leaving us pretty much home-bound all night.\u00a0 In truth, I probably wouldn’t have gone anywhere anyway, but knowing I couldn’t leave if I wanted to made me downright claustrophobic.\u00a0 Luckily one of our neighbors up the street was having a party, so we ambled up there for some entertainment.\u00a0 We hung out for a while and watched the MU game, but felt compelled to sneak out the side door when the karaoke machine came out.\u00a0 Hmmmm.\u00a0 I spent the rest of the night watching TV and fuming about the car in the driveway.\u00a0 By 11:00 or so I had actually convinced myself that, for the first time in history, I felt like driving down to the Plaza and walking around for a while, and worked myself into a downright seething fury knowing that I couldn’t go because my car was blocked in.\u00a0 Ahhhh, nothing like a little random bitterness to pass the time.<\/p>\n
Sunday morning the car was out of the drive, thankfully.\u00a0 By this time, however, the urge to go out had passed so I wasn’t able to take advantage of my new-found freedom. Instead I spent all morning fine-tuning my Fantasy Football lineup.\u00a0 (Which, incidentally, ended up being totally wrong as usual.)\u00a0 After a while I did venture down to the Brooksider to hang out with the usual gang for a while.\u00a0 I stayed way longer than I intended, mostly sitting around listening to the griping about the way the college football rankings came in and speculating about the different bowl scenarios.\u00a0 I had no idea what anybody was talking about, as usual, but it seemed to be a manly thing to do on a cold, crappy day, so I feigned interest for the better part of the day.\u00a0 Everyone certainly seemed intent on it, so I’m sure it is very interesting stuff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
