{"id":2847,"date":"2016-08-29T16:05:14","date_gmt":"2016-08-29T23:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/?p=2847"},"modified":"2016-08-29T16:05:14","modified_gmt":"2016-08-29T23:05:14","slug":"turning-it-down-a-notch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/turning-it-down-a-notch\/","title":{"rendered":"Turning It Down A Notch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We didn&#8217;t do that much this past weekend, which is good because I don&#8217;t feel like typing anyway. \u00a0We started things off strong on Friday with a nice happy hour. \u00a0Somewhere along the way, more people joined in the fun and it turned into happy hours. \u00a0Never a good idea for the old folk. \u00a0Oh well, it was fun and we even got to go to a new place.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday I got up early to get ready to go mountain biking with a buddy. \u00a0Actually I just paced around the house hoping he&#8217;d either A) forgotten about it, or B) changed his mind and didn&#8217;t want to go. \u00a0He showed up though, right on time. \u00a0It was a great idea on paper: \u00a0I wanted to know what trails to take to get from our house to Folsom and I&#8217;m just not familiar enough with the routes to figure it out. \u00a0So we took off from the house, and after about 3 miles on the road we got into some nice easy trails. \u00a0And, for the most part, we stayed on &#8220;nice easy trails.&#8221; \u00a0I am just not a very good rider, I get overwhelmed by these trails out here pretty easily. \u00a0Towards the end of the 17 mile ride things got a little dicey and I somehow managed to fly over my handlebars and bounce myself off a big boulder. \u00a0Pretty easy to see why they call the area Granite Bay, there&#8217;s a lot of it. \u00a0The boulder definitely came out on the better side of the confrontation, it didn&#8217;t look any worse for wear. \u00a0I, on the other hand, was flat on my back, scared to move because I was pretty sure I&#8217;d broken multiple bones. \u00a0(Not to mention, my head was facing down the steep hill and I literally couldn&#8217;t sit\u00a0up.) \u00a0Turns out I was relatively unscathed. \u00a0Ticked off, a little bloody, and very dirty, but no permanent damage this time. \u00a0We&#8217;ll see if I wise up and give up the sport. \u00a0(My buddy mercifully took me on pavement the rest of the ride, I was too shaken for more obstacles.)<\/p>\n<p>Sunday we headed over to a friends house in Sacramento for a bbq. \u00a0I was feeling pretty banged up from my &#8220;incident&#8221; but the lure of ribs was too strong. \u00a0Wise choice, they were delicious and it was a great day to sit outside and enjoy them. \u00a0Matter of fact, we ended up sitting in their back yard all day, snacking and cooking. \u00a0I&#8217;m a lot better at that than mountain biking apparently.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style>\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin: auto;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 .gallery-item {\n\t\t\t\tfloat: left;\n\t\t\t\tmargin-top: 10px;\n\t\t\t\ttext-align: center;\n\t\t\t\twidth: 25%;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 img {\n\t\t\t\tborder: 2px solid #cfcfcf;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 .gallery-caption {\n\t\t\t\tmargin-left: 0;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t\/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes\/media.php *\/\n\t\t<\/style>\n\t\t<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-2847 gallery-columns-4 gallery-size-thumbnail'><dl class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<dt class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/turning-it-down-a-notch\/scooter\/#main'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"112\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/scooter-150x112.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-2848\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/scooter-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/scooter-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/scooter-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/scooter-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/scooter.jpg 1707w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/dt>\n\t\t\t\t<dd class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-2848'>\n\t\t\t\tWe went out to eat Thursday night and while we were eating they put together some stupid car show out in the lot.  Came back out and my scoot was boxed in.  It was probably cooler than that crappy car next to it though. That&#8217;s one vine there.  &#8220;Vines&#8221; only unfortunately, birds ate every single grape.
