{"id":3059,"date":"2017-01-30T15:04:02","date_gmt":"2017-01-30T23:04:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/?p=3059"},"modified":"2017-01-30T15:04:02","modified_gmt":"2017-01-30T23:04:02","slug":"whats-that-big-yellow-thing-in-the-sky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/whats-that-big-yellow-thing-in-the-sky\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s That Big Yellow Thing In The Sky?!?!?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey, it quit raining! \u00a0For a few days anyway, it&#8217;s coming back if you believe the forecast. \u00a0We made the most of the dry weather while it was here though, or at least we tried. \u00a0Things got off to a slow start on Friday because I had to work late. \u00a0Hey, it happens, and admittedly infrequently lately. \u00a0No worries.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday shaped up to be a decent day out, as far as the weather goes. \u00a0I decided to take a little bike ride on the road, as the trails are still far too muddy. \u00a0Before I left, some friends asked if we&#8217;d like to join them for an afternoon wine tasting, complete with catered BBQ. \u00a0Donette quickly agreed that sounded like a fantastic idea. \u00a0I was less enthusiastic&#8230; \u00a0Yeah it was a nice day, but the winery was (sort of) far away and I held my usual grave reservations about the quality of the BBQ. \u00a0I took it into consideration as I headed out on my bike ride. \u00a0The ride was good; \u00a0My gears are a little off, due to some self-inflicted maintenance issues, but the weather was great and I enjoyed the short ride. \u00a0I got home, opened the garage door&#8230;. \u00a0And the car was gone. \u00a0Huh, that&#8217;s weird. \u00a0A few texts later I gathered the unfortunate truth: \u00a0She&#8217;d gone to the winery without me! \u00a0Yeah, I know I said I didn&#8217;t want to go, but that doesn&#8217;t mean you can just leave me home alone! \u00a0Well, yeah, turns out it does. \u00a0Hmph. \u00a0What can ya&#8217; do. \u00a0Of course they supposedly had a wonderful time, the &#8216;que was fantastic, blah blah. \u00a0I&#8217;m skeptical, I think they were just rubbing it in. \u00a0For my part, I sat on the patio alone and grilled some chicken legs. \u00a0And pouted. \u00a0Sniff, sniff.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday I fixed a small brunch for some friends, which is code for &#8220;Come over and help us put together some prefab furniture.&#8221; \u00a0Perfect crime. \u00a0We ate some marginal biscuits and gravy (I experimented with corn starch&#8230; \u00a0semi-failure,) and did indeed get the furniture assembled. \u00a0After that the day sort of morphed into more patio time, then dinner up the hill at one of our go-to Mexican restaurants. \u00a0Not bad, not bad at all.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3060\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3060\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3060\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/sunrise-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/sunrise-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/sunrise-112x150.jpg 112w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/sunrise-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.pkenagy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/sunrise.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3060\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I was so happy it quit raining that I snapped this picture on my walk to work the other morning.
