Season Is Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another weekend in the books.\u00a0 I believe we are firmly in the &#8220;winter slump&#8221; right now.\u00a0 Not that the weather is all that bad, but I think the body just knows it&#8217;s winter time.\u00a0 Hey, it&#8217;s 60 degrees out, could be worse.\u00a0 Just not much going on though.\u00a0 Friday night we stayed in and cooked a nice, reasonably healthy dinner.\u00a0 Saturday our &#8220;event&#8221; for the day was going to a late lunch at <a href=\"http:\/\/eatcascada.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cascada<\/a>.\u00a0 Not exactly a wild day out.\u00a0 It served the purpose though, and in a very reasonably priced fashion.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday I got up very early and fired up the smoker for a day of &#8216;que.\u00a0 Luckily I had it heated up and ready by 6:00, because it took a solid 12 hours to get the pork done.\u00a0 Pork in verde sauce, to be exact.\u00a0 Probably Chris Martin&#8217;s greatest contribution to the world, this recipe is one of my favorite things to make.\u00a0 And, in a stroke of sheer genius, I actually wrote down what went in it this time, so I&#8217;ll be a little better prepared next time.\u00a0 Other accomplishments for the day?\u00a0 Well, not much on my part.\u00a0 I went and got the car washed.\u00a0 Woo Hoo.\u00a0 This was, however, an hour and a half task.\u00a0 Wow they were crowded.\u00a0 While I slaved over a hot smoker, Donette joined our friends Michael and Alaina up the hill at some winery that was going out of business.\u00a0 They must have found some deals, they returned with quite a haul.\u00a0 We had the pork for dinner, and I was pleased with the results.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a good thing, because I&#8217;ve got an entire freezer full of left
